Hello, my name is Urs-Björn Schmidt and this is my personal Homepage. I like languages and their writing systems, especially Chinese characters and I'm learning some languages from around the world right now, including English, Japanese and Thai. My favorite German food is Wiener Schnitzel and my favorite Japanese food is Katsukarē. Another hobby of mine is computer programming. I program mostly in Java and C, but also occasionally in other languages like JavaScript, Perl, etc. You can find some of my projects on GitHub. I also occasionally make music and upload it to SoundCloud. If you want to contact me, please visit my imprint.
Here are some random things I've done in the past:
Dec. 2021: I passed the Kanji Kentei —or Kanken for short— level Jun-2-Kyu (fourth heighest out of twelve) with 167 out of 200 points.
Sep. 2021: Masa interviewed me on his YouTube channel about how I learned Japanese: How did he learn to speak Japanese so fluently? ~conversation in Italki~
Nov. 2018: Together with my supervisors Rainer Koschke and Bernhard Berger we published the paper "Built-in Clone Detection in Meta Languages" at the IEEE 18th International Working Conference on Source Code Analysis and Manipulation (SCAM).
Aug. 2014: I passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test —or JLPT for short— level N1 (heighest out of five) with 133 out of 180 points.
Nov. 2010: I released my first and last digital electronic album Castle Gate. Available on Beatport and Spotify.
